Dutch Dare OLW

Our Dutch Dare blog has a new design come take a look and we also added a few new members to the pack, welcome to Johanna, Margot, Monique and Petra! (links at the right side of my blog).
The new challenge is to scrap about your little word of 2011.
I choose FOCUS.
Focus on the main things in life, focus on the main things at work, focus on my little family, focus to make better photographs (practice my skills).

I put the journaling in the envelop underneat the picture (still have to do that). I made the flower with a pleated ribbon. I decided I wanted use some distressing and pink and glitter. Not my usual :)

Thanks for looking,

Hugs Astrid

Hmmm, 2 months ago was my last post. Time flies and I don't know why, just didn't feel like blogging. But I will give it another try. Today we celebrated queensday here in Holland, we had such a lovely day, nice weather, we when to Delft and we loved it. we went to the flea market and bought some toys together with Camiel. We also when to the fair, Camiel loved it and wanted to do every ride. Here some pictures.

But when we got home we saw the horrible news that somebody attempted to attack the royal family with a car. 5 people died and there are also seriously injured people. Unbelievable, I just got chills when I saw the footage on TV, horrible.

This are my lastest Lo's of this week.

This LO I made for the OLW challenge of this week: Journey. I still managed to do all the challenges this year, I really love them, they get me to do other LO's, about special subjects.
Here I journaled about the journey of a lifetime, about becoming parents and raising our sons.
Loved that i made this picture of all our legs at the watersite during a walk in the parc, 1 of the first sunny days of this spring. Used the Jack&Jill Studio Calico kit. Again a wonderful kit, love the colors and the invisble chipboards (Heidi Swapp) are so much fun. Finally used my vintage buttons from France.

Thanks for visiting, love it whe you leave a comment so I know I'm not talking to myself ;)

Next time I'll try to show so older LO and the projects I made during of the scrap-a-licious weekend.

Hugs, Astrid

Brugge

2 weeks ago at the Valentine's weekend we (Etienne and me) went to Brugge. It was a present from me to him. We really enjoyed it is such a nice city (in Belgium), with a historical centre, beautiful buildings. I booked as an hotel in the middle of the centre, ideal. It was really relaxing, no kids (they stayed at my parents). That can be a nice change for a time, we did some siteseeing, shopping, eating out, relaxing. The city is really photogenic, this are some results.

at night:

I also used a picture of the 2 of us for the previous OLW challenge (FUN). Mostly used the Sudio Calico kit, also some walnut veneer (also SC) which I covered the chipboard tree with.

Now I want to do the new challenge, the word is SEE. Can't come up with something yet. Don't really did much scrapping lately, not much time and when I have in the evening I'm just too tired...

Camiel a week vacation from school, today he and me went that see a movie: Bolt. It was his first time going to the movies, he loved it. And Bolt was fun for me too.

Tristan was a bit ill the last week, no fun vomitting and so on. He can walking around the table really good now. He is exploring everything in the house :) Lots of time I have to think back to when Camiel was this ago, so many simular things like grapping the remote controls every time, taking everything from the drawers or cupboards, everytime you open the dishwasher he need to crawl to it to pick something from it. :) This is a fun age, he is learning so many new things.

Here is a recent picture of the 2 together, always when I'm making pictures, Camiel want o hold Tristan, which he not always preferes

Tomorrow we are visiting friends: Katja and Ramon and their 3 kids Kimani, Minou and Melvi, they live in Velserbroek , really looking forward to that.
Have a good weekend!

1 year old!!

Already 1 year (+ 1 week) ago this sweetheart came into our life. I looks like a second child moves the time even quicker...
Tristan just born 30 jan. '08:
Eating his birthday cake 1 year later 31 jan.'09:

This was the inivitation for the party:

We took a picture every month with a stuffed pinguin, to follow his growth, here you can see a collage:

We also did this with Camiel and I'm glad we did it again, although sometimes we were a few days (or a week...) too late.

Last night I finished a LO for the last OLW challenge,

Again this challenge inspired me to use pictures of myself (may '07) Used clear extras of Heidi Swapp and some fun goodies of Papier Valise: little flowers, ticket, clock face, rhinestones. Stamp: Studio Calico, cipboard swirl: Fancy Pants.

Here you se the dimension of the flowers, love them!

Have a nice weekend,

OLW: embrace

Here is my LO for the last OLW challenge: embrace. It inspired me to make a LO about myself this is the result:

A happy memory
Last month I made a Lo for a sketch in the magazine SCRAP! I sent it to the magazine so it could possibly be publised, the first I try for me. But now I read that the magazine has stopped, bummer ;) So I can show you the LO now I guess. Another LO about myself, here I was 7 months pregnant. I used a lot of glitter I wrote a qoute on the pink circle paper:

In the end all that matters isn't the things you did, what it's effects are today.
Not the knowledge you have learned, but how you applied it.
Not the word that were said, but how they made you feel.
And most of all not the moments of occurence, but how it's now just a part of our memory...
Everyday we make memories...
Let's paint lives with happy ones.

Next friday it's Tristan's first birthday, talking about time flying... We celebrate it on saturday not to big, I already ordered the cake we a picture on it with Tristan climbing the stairs. Tomorrow I'm making the treats for daycare, nothing too fancy and complicated.

Hugs,

Astrid

OLW

My take on the OLW challenge of last week: start. I was mentioned in the slideshow on their blog :)

Frisse start van het nieuwe jaar
Fresh start of the new year. Made this picture during new years eve. We woke up Camiel at 12 'o clock to wish him happy new year an to light some kids fireworks. I was surprised by the picture I made without flas at 3200 ISO. Love the special feeling about this picture, journaling is on the tag behind the picture.

Looking forward to see what the new word is today. Planning to join the challenges as much as I can , really love this challenges, they make me think differently about my stories to tell.

Hugs

Beach

Today we have been to Scheveningen, to the beach. It was very windy, lots of sand blowing in the face. But is was warm and we like the beach. We made lots of pictures. Camiel wanted to go in the water, normally he is not really a hero. So I let him run in his undies and he really enjoyed it. And I enjoyed watching it and of course taking pictures ;)

Camiel and me, here you can see how windy it was.

Yesterday I took some pictures of Tristan enjoying his bucket bath. He puts his feet up, so funny.

Camiel always wants to watch and Tristan is always smiling when he sees Camiel. My hearts melts everytime when I see how they interact.

And at last a LO I realised I didn't show on my blog, I was really satisfied with it.

Title is note to myself, I used the scrap-club may sketch (made by Petra, I was happy to use my square punch ;) and combined it with the OLW challenge of a few weeks ago (think). Journaling: While thinking about it enjoy life more. Also did some therapeutic hidden jounaling ;) The sewing was also kind of therapeutic ;) I don't own a sewing machine, so I did it by hand. And I can officialy say that is a LOT of work... But I like the effect.

Details:

Last week I made a new LO, I show you next time, I need to edit the pictures. It a spread something I don't do very often. I am really satisfied, so are you curious now you ;)

I off to feed the little one his last bottle of today and than finally get some rest, tomorrow 6 o'clock my alarm goes off, bzzz. Really hard work getting 2 little boys to daycare and myself to work. ;)
