DD day2

And here is my second page for the december daily.

I wanted t document the 'Sinterklaas' celebrations we had last week at my workplace. So not a picture that was made on this day exactly.

with the number page

The print with the words: december was a digital sheet of Ali Edwards which we got on the SCboard (esclusive board wasincluded with the kit)
I embossed the 2 with red ZING powder, I cut the 'Zwarte Piet' from a chocolate letter (typical dutch Sinterklaas treat) package.

December Daily day 1

ETA: I update the pics with better ones in daylight :)

Yes it's that time again, december.  Time for another december daily, after looking through DD of last year and seeing the SC/Ali Edwards kit I decided to do another round. Hope I can keep up in this really busy month (Sinterklaas, 2 birthdays, parties, christmas celebrations, work and so on...)  But that also means I have lots to document.

Unfortunately the AC binder wasn't included in my kit :(  I hope to get it soon...SO I had to make my basepages without the page protectors.

Here are the first (title) pages . (I made this pictures with lamp light, I will made new ones in daylights soon. I copied the pocket idea of Ali.

 the pockets
The title page, I sprayed the paper with cream mister Huey and after that glitter spray

And this is my day 1 page: I made a picture of the boys opening the first door of the Playmobil Advent calender.
For every day I also have made an in between page of paper or overlay with the number of the day like Ali.

I also made day 2, but no pic yet. So I'm totally up to date :)

2 boys + almost 7

Last week I finally found scrapmood back, guess I just was too tired to scrap in the evening after work. The little men has been waking us up several times a night for the last weeks/months. He don't want to stay in his own bed, pfff tiresome.

But the good news is I made 2 LO's.

2 Boys in my life. Love the sunlight (and my boys ;) ) in this picture. A bit simple LO, but such a background paper don't need much. I took some brads and glued them on the butterflies iso making a hole.

Almost 7: I wanted to document the proces we have been to with Camiel, we got him examined for maybe AD(H)D or something related. He is not really hyperactive but has some other symptons like his lack of concentration(mostely at home) and some more. The reult were no ADHD so for they can sat now, but he also got an IQ test and with a IQ of 123 he is a 'gifted' boy. He probably need to be entertained al lot and is easyly bored, which is something we need to watch out on school. We have a meeting planned with his teacher next week to talk about it, but so far he is doing great on school, he is really studious at that's a great thing :) Beside that he is really stubborn and don't take initiatives himself.  I start to know him a little bit more each time!
BUt I just love how this LO came together :) Love the white mister Huey on the woodgrain paper. Made the sub/flower with yellow tutu trim. I als heat embossed the banner and the numbers.

Have nice weekend!

Tags

Like I wrote in my last post, last saturday I followed  a stampworkshop at the Craftorij in Ede together with Petra. The teacher of this workshop was Jolanda , she brought a lot of Katzelcraft stamps (but I also used a few stamps f anther brand).
We learned a lot of technique and I not a frequent stamper, so lots of new stuff for me. We had lots of fun and (especially I ;) ) got really messy.

These are the tags we made and I write down what we did, so I can remember it myself ;):

1. Distres ink on the edges and the images is also stamped with the same distres ink (antique linen) and embossed with clear powder.

2. Stamped with distress ink and also embossed and for the background 2 colors of distress ink on a craft sheet with water and put the tag in this and then dry and add a few drops more.

3. Same technique for background as 2 and the rozet is made with a Tim Holtz die, after that some stamping with stazon and a few embellies added.

 4.  background made with shavingfoam (!) in which we added disress ink (refill) put the tag in in, remove foam and let dry. Fun  technique :) , stampted with stazon (not really happy with the result), so I added some white paint mixed with water at home over the total tag and a string + heart.

5. First distressed the whole tag with pumice stone ink and with a flower stencil and matte medium made the flowers, dry with heating tool. Then added broken china distress ink with the foam tool. After that added the text stamp. Great technique with the matte medium, need to do that more often.

6. Splashed gesso mixed with water on the tag, the same background technique as 2, the gesso works as resist. Then add stamps with stazon.

7. Put refill distres ink on a brush and wipe over the upper edge of the tag, spray water and let it drip over the tag. This looked a bit bloody (huh Petra ;) so I added a scary girl stamp and embossed it.

8. Dab distress ink over a swirl stencil on the tag with the lighest color of 3 distess inks, move stencil and add darker color, move stencil again and add darkest color. Then I added the chandelier stamp with stazon.
At home I added matte multi medium mixed with antique linen ink on top of the tag, washi tape, string  and brad.

9. The tag was my favorite. Background made with the same technique as 2. After that stamp the tree and embossed. Than put stazon ik on the same stamp, poured UTEE from melting pot on a part of the stamp. When it was hard, remove it (you can only do this with rubber stamps and not on wood, not clear stamps they will melt)  and pu it on the right spot on the tag, attach with glue. Added a wrd stamp with stazon.

That's it for today, I am busy with a canvas for the daughter of a friend who turns 10, hope she is going to like it.

DD schets #44

Last wednesday it was time for sketch #44 on the Dutch Dare blog. Sketch was made by Marsha and a good oppertunity to use more pics on a LO.

I used it to scrap the pics of Camiel on his first schoolday. His first day in 'groep 3' were he finally is going to learn to read, write and math. On his first day he made a little book about IK (me), the first word they learned. So cute, I added in a pocket (Smash) behind the picture on the right.

Here  you can see the the other creations and read about the the change to win a RAK or be our guestdesigner if you join the sketchchallenge.

Last saturday I followed a stampworkshop together with Petra in Ede at the Craftorij, Jolanda was the teacher. We had lots of fun, got really messy (especially my fingers ;) )  and made very nice tags with lots of techniques and Katzelkraft stamps. I will take some pics tomorrow so you can see them.

dutch dare krant

And it's  already that time of the monthagain , the new Dutch Dare is online. This time the theme was newspaper. Because I couldn't come up with a subject, I decided to use newspaperas background. I Took a piece of cardstock and glued pieces of newspaper on it with Claudine Hellmuth Studio Multi-Medium in Matte finish. After that I started to get messy with white paint, different inkts and I used a star as mask for spray painting (Miser huey Barnwood). Then I added a few embelishments, piece of paper and of cource a picture of Camiel where he was showing of his moves. ;)

Take a look at what creative things the DT made and have a change to win this awesome vintage RAK.

Last week finished another LO but I still haven't shw it because everytime I wanted to take a picture there wan't enough daylight :(  Fall is really showing his signs. Although last week we had really nice weather, a bit replacement of the summer we had missed this july and august...

Smile: I went a little wild with embelishing this LO :) I misted a metal heart (with a cutout pattern) and added green/white string. Futher lots of buttons and stones.

Last week Camiel joined a training at a beeball (baseball) team and they asked his to play at a tournament with this new team. He really loves it, the weather was nice (great for us too ;) )
And they even ended in 2nd place.

A few pics:

Yesterday I visited the St Maartenskliniek in Woerden to let a orthopedic take a look at my lefthip (also made x-ray pictures of zourse), because I have often pains and can't walk a lot without pain and so on. The Physiotherapist couldn't help me anymore and besides that my sister has hip dysplasia which is hereditary.
The result is unfortenately I have an abnormality at my hipjoint (already all my life). They can do nothing about it now (only some training at the phsysiotherapist to get stronger) because an operation is a step too far (which is really heavy and takes a long time recovering, half year or so). I don't see the need for that yet neither.
But I'm a bit sad about this, because it will never get better only worse....  At lease I know what's the matter now.

And now I need to pick up Camiel from school, he had a (cold) cookinglesson after school.

Hugs,
Astrid
