Still not OK again

Well I'm feeling better already, have been going to work again this week. But I still have this bad cold and late in the afternoon I get an awful headace, probably a sinus infection. Today I started with antibiotics, hope that helps soon.

Now some LO's I made last week, I'm glad I found some inspiration after receiving the last SC kit, Bakers Dozen. Such yummie colors! Used it for the last 3 LO's.

Geitje: (little goat) Made this LO just for the fun of creating. The green grid a leftover negative of a boardgame and I also used a umbrella of which I cut of the stick.
Play: Made this from a SC sketch. I wish it was spring already, barefoot playing outside, sigh... I used sunflower Maya mist on the background.

Kleine wasjes (little laundries): During th erenovation of our house (bathroom, kitchen and toilet) we had to improvise with bathing the kids. I put Tristan in the sink and Camiel also wanted, tight fit ;) The yellow is a filefolder.

Gone fishin': For a SC sketch, this one was a real challenge but I really love the outcome. I used cut in half cardstock buttons for the scallops.
Etienne and Camiel fishing for tadpoles (kikkervisjes), again I'm longing for spring...

Have a nice weekend!
Hugs,
Astrid

Still not OK

Still suffering from the last convulsions of the flu, pff what a tough virus it is.
But I managed to finish a LO, I decided to do a lift of a LO of myself :), crazy huh. It's a LO of years ago but I still love it.

Sweet & sour: Camiel licking a lollipop which you dip in sour stuf. Loved the look on his face when tasting the sour, I was too late to capture that... Made the tag myself with colorwah, paint and an embossed HS stamp. It was also fun to use some eyelets again just for accents, should do that again.

The details

The tag:

2 Days ago I received the februari Studio Calico kit, Bakers Dozen, I also bought some Homefront papers and stickers and extra goodies. So it was fun to unpacked the box. Now I'm not really motivated to make something. Blame it on the flu.

See you,

hugs Astrid

Sickbay

Yikes, we have a sickbay around here this week. On sundaynight Tristan run a fever, on monday Etienne stayed home with him. On wednesdaynight Camiel also got a fever and he is still not feeling well now. So he got to miss the carnavalcelebration on school today, too bad because he really wanted to dress up this year and he normally just hates that. And today it's my turn to stay home and feel really bad. Muscleaces, running noses amd so on, you got the picture.
So the only thing I could do after I had been sleeping too long and had been laying too long in bed was surfing the net. So I could as wel post a blog.

I'm really longing for spring, no more snow please.

So now back to scrapping. I finally got to put some LO's into albums, still not finished. I got the kids LO's done and now the rest, still thinking about who to organise them. I use American Crafts D-ring album , really easy to work with especially when you want to add another page in between. What do you use?

I have been doing the sunday sketch challenges on the Studio Calico blog, love them, just a challenge to think outside the box and they draw a random winner (or 2) who wins a 5$ certificate for the shop, if you like to join.

Here are some LO's:
ZIEK (Sick): A few moths ago when CAmiel was also ill and was missing out on his 1st swimming lesson which he was so looking forward to. I made this background myself by drawing and cutting circles of cardstock. Just you: I found this little poem who was fitting this picture of Etienne very well. This was for a SC sketch. I love the colors on this 1. Lego fantasie: Another SC sketch challenge LO, I flipped the sketch. I love the 'white space' here something I have a 'problem' with usually.Details: This was for a CHA challenge at SC, lift a LO from you favs. I lifted a LO of Kimmi see link. I love the popped circles of the same pp and all the strips of paper. The yellow pp has flocked circles, so pretty. Picture of a window at my parents house in France (in the shed). Ok it's not good to have such a big crack in the wall, but I just love this image.
I was inspired by Lisa Truesdell's amazing LO 1 2 3, (I also love her misting and sewing the heart) But I used the strips of paper, love all these colors together, not very snowy but it fits the picture ;)Me & you & you: I really feeled like using a lot of colors on this LO, the picture is at a kite festival of me and my 2 little boys. With this 1 I just went with the flow, trew some things (also fabric) on the paper and didn't think too much, also long as it was colorful. Kind of nice for a change, iso moving papers for hours which I usually can do.
Seriously: This picture cracks me up. he was so tense standing in front of Sinterklaas talking to him ;) Also used a SC sketch for this 1 (last sunday you can still enter if you like) Made the flowers out of punched circles (Marta Stewart).
That was my last LO, I'm already busy with a new one, but first I have to feel better.
See you soon,
Hugs
Astrid

Almost februari

I'm glad you're here again. And I'm glad I am too. ;)
Januari is almost over and I have to say it can't move fast enough towards early spring, really longing for a bit of sun. But I guess I have to wait a while.

But the end of januari means another birthday around here. Tomorrow is Tristan's 2nd birthday, yes I know time moves on fast. He is changing so much lately, he is learning new words every day. So funny to hear him speak. And he is very naughty and challenging but aren't all boys of 2 that way ;)

Here is a recent picture just let his hair cut this week. He loves bags and stuff where he can put things in, lately I'm looking a lot for things he has stuffed somewhere...

And some of my LO's I made the last month.

Presents: Tristan unwrapping his presents on 'Sinterklaas' evening, with the help of the bigger kids, he was really enjoying himself. I used some older supplies, like the HS letterstickers.
Sinterklaas: Another Lo about Sinterklaas, this time Camiel who made a drawing and he went on stage to give it to the Sint himself, so proud of him, he is no big hero about such things usually.
A very simple LO, just wanted the story to be told.

High up in the sky: Me on a balloon ride I did with my work department, a wonderful experience, We had to make 3 appointments before we finally went (all depends on the wind). And the sassafras was of course perfect paper for this LO.

Art by Camiel: A drawing of Camiel, he said it was me and dad, so what do you think? ;)

It's my party: pictures of Camiel his first kids birthdayparty, I used a Studio Calico sketch for this (they have one every sunday, I love a good sketch challenge, always a time to do something different)
Dag sneeuwman (bye snowman): Etienne and Camiel built this snowman before our house and the next morning it was gone, didn't know snowman could walk...
I sewed the stargarland with jute the star is a punch of fiskar. Also some red mist on craft cardstock.
Sweetest miracle: An older picture of Tristan (3,5 months old), I used a poem, hope you can read it. Used SC Whodunit kit (+ add-on). Lots of Basic Grey, I'm in love with all the yellow and green in this line. The twine and jute is also from SC.

Perfect blurry picture: Ahhh this yellow, I could just eat it (Ok that's strange, but it's jus so yummie). I loved this family picture we made on our holidayweekend, but it was dark already, I used high iso, so it's blurry, bummer. But I like it too much not to use.

5: Camiel on his 5th birthday. Trying to make a nice picture with his 5 fingers and this is the best I could get. I think I'm in need for a photography course. I thought I was pretty briliant ;) when I came up with the idea of made a big 5 using journaling.

I have a few more but I think I let you hanging here, too much pictures in one post otherwise. But i alread put them in my gallery at SC, 2P and SisTV if you just can't stand it :D
Have a nice weekend, mine alreay started today because I took the day of and I'm home alone, so I know what I will be doing this afternoon (a pile of scrapgoodies are calling my name...)
Hugs,
Astrid

Printerbox project

Last month Studio Calico (my favorite kit club :) ), had a project add-on whit a printerbox. At first I didn't want to buy it, you know the expensive december month... But, Petra asked me to order 'some' things from SC, correction I offered to order it (they have flat shipping rates which is nice :) ). But OK she was also ordering the project add-on, so I thought what the heck and ordered another one.

When it came in I couldn't be happier, (really that box is happy mail which brightens my day =) )
To go short I really did something with it, i.s.o. only thinking about it (you know that, or am I the only one...)

I used picture of our summerholiday at my parents property in France (I was in use of some sun , with al the snow around here). This is the result, what you think?
(Petra have you already done something with it?)

Thanks for looking, next post some of my latest LO's. I don't know what it is but I'm really on a roll lately, I'm not complaning.
I counted the LO's I made last year it was around 110, more then I thought. How much did you made. Maybe I do a favorite LO's post, I have been seeing much lately on other blogs.
Hugs Astrid

Happy Newyear

Happy Newyear everybody! Hope all your wishes come true in 2 thousand 10.
We celebrated the new year with our friends Katja & Ramon and their 3 kids in a cabin on a park (Landal, Land van Bartje) in Drenthe, where we had lots of snow, it looked like we were on wintersport.

Our house
Sledding
More snow from the sky
Winterwonderland
Kimani, Camiel & Minou the 3 biggest kids, look at their legs covered in snow...
Tristan meeting Bollo
Tristan on adventure on his own
Lots of eating =)
All of us!
We had lots of fun playing, swimming, eating, relaxing and doing nothing...
We already had a week with working, school and so on.
This weekend again we had snow, no as much as in the north of Holland, yesterday we were suppose to have a family reception in Friesland but that had been postponed until 30 january which is the day Tristan is turning TWO (already..) so we won't be there.
Hope everybody is OK especially in the north of Holland, I think lots of people had a relax weekend in their home. Hope tomorrow when the whole moving to the workplace-game begins everything goes OK. I'm glad I work nearby these days, no biking because of the slippery roads, but lots of walkingand sliding... which I'm fed up with. So for me it was enough snowfun, maybe it's time to think about the spring already (probably not I guess).
I have a little project I did which I love, to show you. But I do that in another post, because of the picture uploading thing which I hate in Blogger.

3e kerstdag (third christmasday)

Yes it's me again ;)
Today it's '3rd' christmasday, Etienne really hates this when someone says this. ;) We celebrate 1st and 2nd christmasday here in the Netherlands, because the day after that is a sunday, many people call it a 3rd.
Have you seen my new blogheader, I thought it was time for a little change, a pic with both the boys.
How was your christmas? The first we had a nice breakfast together and in the afternoon we went to my parent where we had a really nice diner with my sister too.
The 2nd day we were home, didn't do much, just chillin' ;) On our dinner was a fishgourmet. The boys didn't feel like sitting stil at the table for a very long (actually also not for a short time...) So not really a succes... Maybe next year...
Today we went to Scheveningen to walk a little on the beach and we went to Sealife, ate early at Binkie Beer. A nice day.

A fun pic before 1 of the 2 christmastrees. It's hard to get a good one of both the boys...

Tristan loves shoes ;) Here his is in my snowboots, he really is a clown.
Camiel, he looked so handsome in his christmas outfit =)

I asked my sister to take a picture of us 4, the weather was gray so I had the ISO high, result really grainy pics :(
And a new LO, made with the Studio Calico kit Orchestra. Which was so yummy, right Petra ;)
I'm in love with the month stamps, I think I'm gonna use them on every Lo, or is that a bit over the top??
1 add-on contained a printer tray by 7Gypsies, planning to make something really soon with that. And today was the reveal of the new kit already, again gave in and ordered 2 add-ons, a my credit card... ALso ordered another printer tray in white this time. Fun stuff.
Eindelijk (finally)
Everytime I look for a good picture of my mom and Camiel, I found nothing... Funny faces, closed eyes (especially my mon ;) ) But finally in France I got my picture!!

I am home the whole week together with the kids. And we go the weekend of newyears eve to a Landal Green park in Drente together with friends who have 3 kids. So that gonna be fun I think.

Hugs Astrid
