Hi, thanks for your sweet words on my LO's in the last post. =)

I have 2 more LO's to show:

Swing: I came across this picture of Tristan last year in de Linneaushof and just loved the colors and had to scrap it ;) It pulled out my clear buttons, great to use my older stash. The rest is SC Granny's cupboard and some other SC stuff.

Mijn binkie: Again Tristan, love this pic. I used and older SC kit 'Whodunit' (I have plenty of kit leftovers...) For the non-dutchies, binkie means something like little boy and not pacifier. =)

We have a rainy sunday overhere and I'm alone with the kids. Etienne has a day/evening trip with his colleagues. They had some outdoor sports planned, no luck with the weather for them... And also a BBQ, hope they also have an alternative for this weather.
I think we will spend the day indoors, hope the boys won't kill eachother...

I hear Tristan over the babyphone, naptime is over. :)

Creative outlet

Last week I have been quite busy scrapping, I still love to scrap as much as I can (if I can separate myself from the laptop ;) ). It gives me such a good feeling, to write the memories down and also to creatively express myself.

So this was the result:

Silly boy: Different style as my usual. I saw this blue wall I liked and wanted to take cute pics of Camiel, but this is the face I got... SC Joyland kit.

Bellen blazen: SC Granny's cupboard kit, it was just shouting blowing bubbles pictures and just had them lying around, lucky me ;) I love this bubbles chipboard (Buzz & Bloom) and the patchwork Girl's Paperie paper.
3 generations: BG basics background paper + SC Granny's cupboard kit and few goodies I got as birthday present from Petra (thanks :) ) Picture made on our holiday in France in a church, love the arches and me my dad and Camiel together.
Enjoy: I think red and green is my favorite colorcombination, I find myself using it over and over again. And that red OA paper is just divine. (SC Granny's cupboard). Love the relax picture of Etienne.
My favorite pic of us: Picture made by Camiel (can't believe he made this picture, it really is my favorite, great huh). SC Granny's cupboard and Whodunit kit and labels + butterflies present from Petra :). Can I say I'm pretty please with the result.

We have had the best 3 day's weekend, great weather and really relaxed. I loved it :) Yesterday we went to amusement park Plaswijck, it really was a nice day. We went early (we arrived around 10 (a great accomplish for us I had to say, we are kind of slow starters), but I was happy we did, it was not yet crowed, so we could do what we wanted (train ride, carrousel, traffic park (with kart rides), after that we went to the water park, which was nice for the kids because it was really warm. They also have little zoo and of course a big playground. A good day spent especially because we didn't had to pay entrance fee because we have a Rotterdam pass.

Finally time to write about my surpriseparty. Sunday may 9th I turned 40 and on 8 may Etienne organised a surprise (not completely ;)) party, I knew there was a party and that it was not at home. That was all I knew, I noticed there was a lot going on the last days before (calling, texting and secret notes and so), but he kept a lot secret, which is difficult with somebody like me ;P
Etienne told me he had to work in the morning and he would be coming from work to the party (bummer I thought...), my parents came to pick me and the kids up. Of course he wasn't working at all, because he was decorating the partyroom (which belongs to the company he works for) and arranging all kind of things. When we came there I saw lots of people I didn't expect, family I hadn't seen in a long while, neighbors, friends and even a few colleagues (so funny what he did to arrange that). And later more people came, because it was rather lastminute not everybody could make, but I really loved it anyway, it was so so sweet of Etienne. Now the pictures to complete the story, the quality is not that good, due to the lightning (coloured disco light) and a friend took most of the pictures, I didn't brought my point and shoot and she wasn't familiar with a DSLR camera. But anyhow I'm glad to have some shoys to remenber.

Unwrapping a present (I really have been spoiled!)
Etienne arranged a 'salsa' DJ: Miss Unyk. So much fun (Etienne and I met during salsa lessons, so that was the beginning of a long story where salsa is the common thread in our lives (altough nowadays more in Etienne's life than mine).
He also arranged a girl who could watch and play with the kids, how smart was that ;) There were 2 footbaltables and and als pinball, they could also draw a play games.
Camiel really had so much fun, we didn't get much contact with him most of the time.
Not only for the young kids ;)
Etienne did a little speech which was really sweet, wish I could remember the words, it was all so overwhelming. He also had a special present a necklace with a heart locket with a picture of the kids in it. I need to make a picture of it.

We had a little buffet.
Look at Tristan in between my parents, he insisted that he was eating at the bar ;)

Look Petra: here I am unwrapping your present, which was a surprise which she sent to Etienne's work. Etienne also invided her but she couldn't make it. I loved your present Petra! ( a scrapmagazine, a homemade card, scrapgoodies and a coupon to buy a scrapmagazine), so so nice. I told you I was really spoiled!!
us. :)
And then they had that idea to dance a rueda (salsa with more dance couples) you should know I really didn't dance in ages (ok in years), so I was a bit shocked and everything was really rusty. But who cares. A friend of Etienne: Leon also did a little salsa workshop, people really liked that.
A couple of the kids, they were really enjoying themselves, I really liked that.
A little dance with the 3 of us, Tristan said that Camiel needed to join (so sweet), but no Camiel was too occupied with the pinball machine...

Thanks so much sweetie for the great day/evening.

I have some LO's I want to share, but that's for next time :)
Enjoy the rest of the weekend, we really had nice weather today, hope to enjoy some more tomorrow :)

Dutch Dare sketch #27

Yesterday the new sketch challenge (#27) of the Dutch Dares went live, check out what all the girls made with this challenging sketch.
This is my result, when I saw the sketch I immediately thought about a photo serie of Etienne after his operation to see the process of healing.

Back home

Back home again from a week in France with my parents at their (vacation)house in Fouvent le Haut between Nancy and Dijon. The weather was not really great, but we had a lovely quiet week. I made lots of pictures, good time to practise my skills. Here some shots I like.

The back of the shed:

My mom
The boys playing soccer with grandpa on the 'cour':
Woodstove, which provided us with very welcome heath in the cold house (it has very thick walls, so it is always chilly and the only heating they have are 2 woodstoves, (they do stay there in the wintermonths, too cold and a bit depressive I think ).:
Taking a stroll around the little village:
Beautiful nature:

we wanted to take pictures in the gorgeous yellow coleseed fields (they extract oil from the seeds the fowers develop later in the season), so we took the car and Tristan (Camiel didn't want to join) found a nice field and did a shoot. We also found a woodpile which was great for a backdrop.

We use the timer for the one.
Last day we when for a hike in the neighbourhood

We found a property with old 'garbage' wher which was also cool for pictures.
Another one with the timer.

Back in the village.
A lot of reading, playing boardgames and Nintendo DS (Camiel) during the week. (I managed to do a little scrapping but I didn't had much inspiration there.)
And now where back and today everything went back in routine, school, work, daycare (and blogging :) )

Wednesday the new Dutch Dare sketch challenge goes live, come an join us if you like (we absolutely would ;) )

Another thing I like to write about is my 40th birthdayparty, Etienne threw me a (kind of) surprise party. It was so nice, I really enjoyed it. I will write more in my next post, now all I want to do is sleep.

Almost 40

In 2 days I will turn 40, so I tought time to make a Lo about it. Made it with Joyland, Studio Calico kit. I misted the chipboard banners and also the stars and little heart.
Picture made by Camiel (I think he is really talented ;) you should see him walk around with my big SLR camera taking pictures of everything. I know a bit too expensive for a 5 yr old. But with strap around his neck and he is careful, I think next birthday it's time for his own camera)

Time flies when you're having fun :)

More LO's

Here are a couple of LO's I made this week.

zacht: this picture was taken on our holiday on Mallorca (2006) after a reptileshow. Etienne loved holding the snake, he felt so soft he said ;) SO typical Etienne ;) I used a old Fancy Pants chipboard, feels good to finally use up some older stuff. I also used lots of twine (SC)

Laugh: Some crazy faces of Camiel and Xena during the photoshoot a blogged about last week.

I also made a LO about me being almost 40, will post that soon. Need to put the pictures on the laptop (and be at home :) ).

Thanks for coming by, feel free to leave me something, I will come to visit you too.

Almost vacation, yeahhh!!!
